/// EASTER CELEBRATION CHAPEL

[2026-04-06]

Mix Notes

With APU’s Easter Celebration Chapel, I was tested under immense pressure to deliver a clean and clear mix for the live audience. The event featured a minimal on-stage band, however inclided a large choir, a woodwinds section, and numerous other classical instruments, all of which required careful attention to detail in order to ensure that each element was balanced and cohesive. The mix was done on a Yamaha CL5 console with a digital stage box and a mix of Shure wireless IEMs and wedges for the performers.

While minimal ringing out was done the day before, the mix was primarily done on the fly during sound check, with adjustments made in real-time to accommodate the live performance. This required a high level of focus and attention to detail that I had only experienced once before, as well as an understanding of the music and the performers’ needs.

Final Output Feed

I was incredibly pleased with the final mix, which was well received by both the audience, the performers, and the faculty/staff from the music department. The mix was clear, balanced, and cohesive, and allowed each element of the performance to shine through.
