/// GOSPEL CELEBRATION CHAPEL
[2026-02-04]Mix Notes
This event was the largest live worship event I have mixed to date. The event was a celebration of the Gospel for Black History Month 2026 and featured a full band, choir, an organ w/ a leslie cabinet, and almost a dozen vocalists. The mix was done on a Yamaha CL5 console with a digital stage box and a mix of Shure wireless IEMs and wedges for the performers. For this mix, it was also my first time using Waves SoundGrid for live mixing, which allowed me to use Waves plugins in real-time on the console. This was a game-changer for the mix, as it allowed me to use plugins that cleaned up the main sends and vocal bus to make them more clear and warm for the audience.
Post-Mortem
I was very pleased with my mix, especially with the difficulty of both the ammount of inputs on stage and how many moving pieces there were to manage. I was able to get a very clear and warm mix that was well received by the audience and the performers.

READ_ME The audio embedded in the video is not the same mix, it was mixed seperately by Alex Hix for live broadcast.
