/// DUMPSTER FIRE

[2026-05-01]

ABOUT

Dumpster Fire is a split screen co-op game where players put out house fires that were started by reckless and avoidable behaviors. Work together to solve puzzles and extinguish the flames as fast as possible!

ROLE

Dumpster Fire was by far the most work I’ve ever done for any project. I served as Producer, 3D Artist, Systems Designer, Lead Programmer, File Manager, Source Control Manager, Tools Programmer, Audio Engineer, Team Photographer, & Devlog Lead.

For most of the project, I jumped around different roles as needed. However, I spent a majority of my time either programming key aspects of the game systems or modeling, rigging, or fixing 3D Assets for the game. During the last 3 weeks of development, I focused on both optimizing the game and polishing the experience for the final build. Also at the end of development, myself and Melody Miner created the itch.io game page, which utalized many different CSS and HTML elements to make the page stand out against other pages.

The end result, while not achieving the level the team initially planned, came out to the most extensive game we’ve made with numerous systems working together, a fully functional level select, and a complete tutorial level to help players learn the game mechanics.

READ_ME This was initially supposed to be a recurring series of development logs, however due to development time constraints, the team and I made a unanimous decision to focus on finishing the game instead of documenting the process. The following is a summary of the game idea and fun moments from the first few months of development.
