!!! NEW !!!/// ITCH.IO CSS PORTFOLIO
[2026-10-13]A CSS Portfolio for my various itch.io projects.
/// ABOUT
For a long while, I’ve loved playing around with webdeisign (pure HTML and CSS). Since about 2023, I’ve been tinkering with creating a page that stands out from other creators on itch.io. What began as a simple portfolio page for my projects has evolved into a full redesign of my itch.io profile.
/// HISTORY
/// VERSION_01 At first I wanted to stand out no matter what, which lead me to creating a page that was too bright, looking more like cotton candy than a game portfolio. I was mostly just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick, and at the time I was happy with the results. Looking back, the page was definitely too bright and distracting, but it was a good first step in learning how to create a unique itch.io page.

/// VERSION_02 After being blinded by bright colors everytime I opened my page, I decided to tone it down and attempt to make it more professional looking. I wanted to make sure the page was dialed down a little, but still had enough to stand out. First thing I did was change the background from the bright animated gradient to a simple grid pattern. I added a new section at the top of grid that would display my most recent projects. Along with that, I dialed in the hover animations to be more subtle and less distracting.

/// VERSION_03 It’s been a while since I refreshed my website, I wanted to give my itch.io page the same treatment. Because of my new website’s design, it took some more effort to mirror the style as closely as possible. The main goal was to make sure the page was still unique, but also felt like it belonged with the rest of my online presence. The new version is nearly the same as my website, but with a few tweaks to make it feel more like an itch.io page. I brought back the old colors, but made them more subtle and less ‘in your face’. There’s a new animated header and I brought back the animated background to keep with the more lighthearted vibe of itch.io. The site ended up being a lot more work than I expected and it actually almost hits the CSS limit for itch.io, but I was able to get it to work without any issues.

/// POSTMORTUM
Obviously, no page or style will stay the same forever, and I will continue to update my itch.io page as I see fit. I’m very happy with where the page is now and I think it is a good representation of my work and style.
