/// HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY

[2025-11-12]

BACKGROUND

Photography and videography have always been an interest of mine. Headshot photography was always something I dabbled in but never fully tried because I was always too busy with other projects. For Knightfall, I took photos of the whole team (which didn’t end up being posted on social media). I wanted to do the same with my cohort and give everyone professional looking photos that would stand out against other people.

SETUP

I wanted to make sure the lighting added definition and depth to the photos, which is partially why I added colored lights to the plan. Before photo day, I prepped by remaking APU’s Cinema Lab with basic primatives in Blender from a reference photo. The lighting setup was as follows:

  • Key & Fill - 2 GVM Light Panels
  • Rim - Aputure Nova P300 w/ 1/2 Stop Net
  • Subject L & R - 2x Aputure MC Mini Panels per side

After prepping different looks for the team, photo day arrived. I photographed everyone on a Canon R6 with a 105mm adjustable lens. Each person customized their own lighitng looks so each one was unique.

FINAL EXPORTS

With some touchups in Affinity, the photos were completed and exported 2 days later. Along with the photos, I rendered overlays with everyone’s roles for social media posting.
